Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones’ rumoured relationship seems to have come to an abrupt end after Gethin was spotted using the celebrity dating app Raya during a trip to Australia.
The Morning Live co-stars, who have shared a long-standing friendship, sparked romance rumours after they were seen leaving the BAFTA Awards together in May. The pair were also pictured enjoying a relaxing spa day at a countryside resort, fuelling further speculation that their bond had turned romantic.

Earlier this month, Gethin, 47, even publicly wished Helen a happy 42nd birthday on Instagram, leading many fans to believe their relationship was blossoming. But that optimism was short-lived.
According to a source, “Gethin is on the prowl Down Under, which puts the nail in the coffin for his romance with Helen. He’s there with his mates but clearly keen to meet other women. There’s no way Helen would tolerate that if they were still together — and he respects her too much to sneak around.”

The same source added that while the duo had been growing closer, things have “cooled significantly,” much to the disappointment of fans rooting for the pair.
Both presenters know the sting of heartbreak. Gethin’s engagement to Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins ended in 2011, and he’s since been linked to several short-term romances. Helen, meanwhile, endured a painful separation from her ex-husband, rugby star Richie Myler, in 2022 — just months after giving birth to their daughter Elsie.

Helen and Richie were married for eight years and share three children. After Richie left the family home, Helen stunned fans with a message on Instagram: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
In her 2023 memoir In My Stride, Helen recalled the breakup as a total shock. “I was in shock. I know that following break-ups, people often say they didn’t see it coming and it sounds like a cliché, but that was me.”

Today, the short-lived hope of Helen and Gethin finding happiness together appears to have quietly faded — with one Raya profile swipe at a time.
