Olivia Attwood has been met with a wave of praise after making her presenting debut on ITV’s This Morning, with some viewers even saying she made veteran host Dermot O’Leary look like a “first time presenter”.
The former Love Island star, 34, joined the show as a summer stand-in, and Friday marked her first appearance alongside Dermot. But it didn’t take long for Olivia to leave her mark — or crack her first cheeky joke.

Moments into the show, Olivia turned heads with her playful dig at Dermot, saying, “This is not a drill. This is happening! …I did go for a smaller heel,” prompting laughter across the studio. Dermot, clearly amused, stood on his tiptoes to match her height, joking, “You could have worn a flat!”

Despite her newcomer status, Olivia’s performance sparked a flurry of positive comments on X (formerly Twitter). One user said, “Dermot looks like the first-time presenter here — Olivia’s smashing it, far better than Josie Gibson.” Another added, “OLIVIA ATTWOOD belongs on that sofa!”

Clad in a striking all-yellow ensemble, Olivia looked confident and radiant throughout the broadcast. The documentary star — known for ITV shows like Getting Filthy Rich and The Price of Perfection — was previously a panelist on Loose Women, and it seems her experience has paid off.
She addressed scepticism earlier this month, telling The Sun, “Those who know me understand the hard work I’ve put in to get where I am. I’m grateful to Love Island, but there’s so much more to me than just that. I’ve stayed focused, believed in myself, and I’m thankful ITV believes in me too.”

Olivia joins a rotating team of summer presenters including Emma Willis, Sian Welby, Joel Dommett, Rochelle Humes, and Josie Gibson, covering for Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard during their break. But after Friday’s show, many viewers are hoping Olivia becomes a more permanent fixture.
