Sam Thompson has revealed he’s not in a place to date again—right as his ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott officially debuted her new romance with Louis Tomlinson on Instagram.
The 32-year-old reality star recently ended a brief connection with Love Island’s Samie Elishi and admitted during his Staying Relevant podcast that he needs time to focus on himself. “No dating, I’m not ready and I’ve realised that,” he said, explaining he’s prioritising personal growth over romance.
His sister Louise has even playfully suggested he should aim high—perhaps someone like actress Emma Watson. But Sam laughed it off, saying she thinks he needs someone “well to do” rather than “classy.”
Sam and Zara split last year after a five-year relationship, a break-up that spurred him to completely overhaul his lifestyle. He confessed he had a moment of self-reflection and realised he had to make a change—starting with the gym, grooming, and a whole new wardrobe. “I feel so great,” he shared.
Despite his upbeat tone, the news of Zara and Louis Tomlinson going official has undeniably come at a sensitive time. However, Sam credits his happiness to a strong support system of friends and family, saying, “I’m so incredibly lucky.”
