TV presenter Davina McCall has shared a heartwarming health update, revealing she’s been given the all-clear after undergoing brain surgery to remove a dangerous cyst. The 57-year-old former Big Brother host took to Instagram to announce the news alongside her partner, Michael Douglas.

Beaming as she sat in the garden under the sunshine, Davina showed fans before-and-after MRI scans from her surgery in November, where doctors removed a colloid cyst from her brain. “We thought we’d post a final brain operation update,” Davina said in the clip, with Michael adding, “It’s good news!”
Davina continued: “Last week, I had my final MRI. I was nervous because if any of the cyst remained, it could grow back. But thankfully, it’s completely gone. I’d mentally prepared for the worst, but now I can finally move on.” She extended her heartfelt thanks to her medical team and specifically thanked “Kevin,” her surgeon, saying: “A massive thank you to everyone who took care of me so well.”
In her post caption, she wrote:
“So here it is. Our final brain surgery update. Had the final MRI this week. @brain.surgeon.uk got everything out during surgery – it’s not coming back. Thank you so, so much to everyone at @onewelbeck and @clevelandclinic.”
Davina also thanked her mum, partner Michael, her best friend, and her children for their unwavering support. “To my mum, to @mdlondon for taking such good care of me, to Sarah for being my BFF, and to my amazing kids. To @brain.surgeon.uk – the GOAT!”

She concluded: “I’m incredibly grateful, especially knowing that many people live with inoperable tumours and don’t get this chance. I’m lucky to be able to draw a line under this. And just to say again—benign doesn’t mean fine.”
Fans flooded the comments with love and support. One said, “So happy for you both. Made me cry with joy,” while another wrote, “Super proud of you, Davina.”
Davina’s ordeal began last year when she discovered the cyst by chance during a free health scan after giving a talk about menopause. Though initially angry and scared, she found ways to cope by naming the cyst “Jeffrey” and even throwing parties for it, trying to keep her spirits high.
Speaking on her podcast Begin Again, Davina reflected: “It hasn’t changed me forever, but I’ve learned things about myself I wouldn’t have otherwise.” Looking ahead, she added: “I’m pretty sure in two years’ time, I’ll look back and see this as one of the greatest blessings of my life.”
