“People Stared Like I Was a Monster”: Love Island’s Patsy Speaks Out on Painful Transformation. She flew to Turkey alone hoping to feel beautiful again — but what Patsy Field saw in the mirror left her trembling. “I thought I’d made the worst mistake of my life,” she confesses

Patsy Field, who made history as the first disabled contestant on Love Island, has revealed a dramatic transformation following painful cat eye surgery — and opened up about the heartbreak and insecurity that drove her to it.

Now 30, Patsy said the pressure of constant scrutiny after being on the hit ITV2 show shattered her self-esteem. Despite being praised for her authenticity and natural beauty during her time in the villa, she admitted the experience left her feeling “not pretty enough” and desperate for change.

She travelled alone to Turkey to undergo a gifted cosmetic procedure — but the moment she woke up, panic set in. “I was in pain, alone, and scared. My eyes looked like two pink golf balls. I remember thinking, ‘What have I done?’” she confessed.

Patsy, who has Erb’s Palsy and had spoken candidly about her condition on the show, initially couldn’t face looking in the mirror. It took days for her to leave her hotel room — and even then, the stares from strangers left her shaken.

The influencer said years of insecurity about her downward-sloping eyes drove her decision. She admitted, “I probably wouldn’t have gone ahead with it if it wasn’t a gifted procedure.”

She’s now proud of the results but admits she won’t be encouraging younger fans to follow her lead. “I’m nearly 31. I can make my own choices — but I wouldn’t recommend this to someone young or impressionable.”

Although her time on Love Island was brief, Patsy’s impact was lasting. She may not have found love in the villa, but her story continues to spark important conversations — now with a new face, and a new chapter.
