Truth Uncovered! Angellica Bell Breaks Down as She Reveals the Real Reason Behind Her Exit from The Martin Lewis Money Show After Six Years

TV presenter and Celebrity Big Brother star Angellica Bell broke down in tears during Tuesday night’s episode as she opened up about her emotional departure from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023. Angellica, who had co-hosted the show for six years, was suddenly let go in what she described as a difficult chapter in her career.

In the Diary Room, following a humorous moment about morning antics with housemate Donna Preston, Angellica became emotional and admitted: “I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t think I’d get this far. I’m still pinching myself that I’m here.”

When Big Brother praised her as “a great housemate,” Angellica started crying and confessed that she doesn’t handle compliments well. “I’ve loved every minute. It’s probably the best thing I’ve done in a long time,” she shared. “Before coming here, I was scared. The press were asking if I’d talk about the Martin Lewis show, and it took me a long time to get over it.”

She thanked the audience and fellow celebrities who supported her during that period, saying their messages helped her through. “That’s why I came on this show—to reconnect with the old me. I think I’ve found myself again.”

Angellica, 49, who has enjoyed a 25-year career in children’s and daytime TV, was reportedly told abruptly that her services were no longer required on The Martin Lewis Money Show. She was replaced by former Olympian-turned-broadcaster Jeanette Kwakye. After her departure, Angellica went on to host Shop Smart, Save Money on Channel 5.

At the time, speculation arose about a potential “conflict of interest” behind her exit, though ITV issued a statement clarifying: “Angellica is not working on The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes.”
