Ryan Seacrest Announces His Departure from E!’s Live from the Red Carpet After 14 Years
It’s officially the end of an era at the E! Network. Ryan Seacrest, the beloved host known for his charm and professionalism on red carpets, has announced he is stepping down from his longtime role as co-host of E!’s Live from the Red Carpet.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on April 18, 2025, the 50-year-old TV icon reflected on his 14-year journey with the network. Posing in a tuxedo with an E! microphone in hand, Seacrest wrote:
“After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet, I’ve decided to move on to new adventures.”
Fans were quick to react with sadness and nostalgia, as Seacrest has been a staple of red carpet coverage, interviewing A-list stars alongside Giuliana Rancic and bringing viewers behind-the-scenes glamour from some of Hollywood’s biggest nights.
With a schedule that includes American Idol, producing Keeping Up With the Kardashians, his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and formerly co-hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan, it’s no surprise he’s chosen to lighten his workload. His recent health scare during the 2020 virtual American Idol finale—later revealed to be caused by exhaustion—may have also influenced the decision.
Despite the emotional goodbye, Seacrest’s message was full of gratitude.
“I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and, of course, my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.”
Tributes poured in from fans and industry colleagues. Fashion Police’s Brad Goreski praised him, saying, “You are a legend, Ryan!” E! News anchor Jason Kennedy added, “It was a pleasure, brother.”
E! Network itself issued an official statement honoring Seacrest’s contributions:
