Rebel Wilson Admits Regret Over Daughter’s Luxury Car-Inspired Name
Rebel Wilson has opened up about a funny regret she has regarding her daughter’s name. The Australian actress, who welcomed her daughter Royce Lillian via surrogate in November 2022, recently revealed that naming her child after a luxury car brand might not have been the best decision.
Rebel, now 45, explained that she had already started the journey to motherhood before meeting her now-wife, Ramona Agruma. Speaking ahead of her appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the Pitch Perfect star joked that her daughter is living up to the high-end image her name suggests.
“Her name is Royce. I probably shouldn’t have named her after a British luxury car brand — she’s a bit high maintenance,” Rebel laughed. “She’s two and a half now and has managed to get me to massage her feet every night before bed. I was doing it last night for almost an hour. I told her, ‘I should have called you Volvo.’ I don’t know how she suckered me into that.”
Rebel also shared details about her wedding with Ramona Agruma, a fashion designer. The couple got engaged in February 2023 and celebrated with a beautiful ceremony in Sardinia, Italy, before legally tying the knot in Australia. Interestingly, Rebel’s sister Liberty officiated both their wedding and their mother’s wedding the very next day. “My sister is a part-time wedding celebrant. She had a busy week — married me and then married my mum. We didn’t even pay her, and she’s pretty mad about it,” Rebel joked.
Reflecting on the beginning of her relationship with Ramona, Rebel revealed that she was in the process of planning her second embryo transfer when they met. She worried how Ramona might respond to the news that she was soon expecting a child.
“I’d already planned to use a surrogate and had done several rounds of IVF. My first embryo transfer sadly didn’t work,” she explained. “When I met Ramona, I told her, ‘Babe, I don’t know how to say this, but I’m probably going to have a child around November.’”
Ramona’s response was heartwarming. “She just looked at me and said, ‘Well, I love you, and if you have a child, I’m going to love your child exactly the same way.’”
