“THEY’RE OUTSHINING ME…”: Peter Andre admits his children Princess and Junior are surpassing his career — as he makes a statement about retirement

Peter Andre has made a surprisingly candid admission about his future, revealing that his own children are already beginning to outshine his decades-long career — and he couldn’t be prouder.

The 53-year-old singer, best known for his iconic 90s hit Mysterious Girl, appeared on Good Morning Britain this week to promote his upcoming album Legacy. But it wasn’t just music that got people talking — it was his honest reflection on being “eclipsed” by the next generation.

Speaking openly during the interview, Peter shared that both Junior and Princess are already carving out their own paths in the spotlight — and in his eyes, they may have already surpassed him. He said Princess is already onto the third series of her reality show and insisted he wants both children to “spread their wings,” adding that he genuinely believes they are already overtaking his success — and that he loves seeing it happen.

The proud dad didn’t hide his joy at watching their rise, even joking about how busy their schedules have become. He admitted it’s a strange but rewarding feeling seeing his children booked and busy, while he still remains “hungry” for his own career — though he hinted that might not always be the case.

He explained that while he still has the drive to perform and create, there will eventually come a time when he simply won’t want to do it as much anymore — subtly teasing the idea of stepping back from the spotlight.

A New Generation Rising — And He’s Stepping Aside (Eventually)

Peter shares Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, with ex-wife Katie Price, and has three younger children — Millie, Theo and Belle — with his wife Emily MacDonagh.

In recent years, Junior and Princess have increasingly stepped into the limelight themselves. Princess, in particular, has become the face of her own ITV2 reality show The Princess Diaries, where viewers follow her journey into adulthood — from building a personal brand as an influencer to launching a fashion career.

Meanwhile, Junior has also been making moves in music, echoing his father’s early career — and it seems the next generation of Andres are wasting no time building their own legacy.

During the interview, Peter made it clear that he sees their rise not as competition, but as something to celebrate. He described how fulfilling it is to watch them thrive independently, even as they begin to eclipse the fame he built over decades.

Still “Hungry”… But For How Long?

Despite hinting at retirement, Peter insisted he’s not done just yet. Alongside promoting his new album Legacy, he teased an upcoming tour — revealing that a “Legacy Tour” is already in the works, though details are yet to be officially announced.

He said he’s feeling happier than ever, constantly smiling, and excited to see how the album performs before unveiling tour plans. Fans can expect new music very soon, with the album set for release on April 10.

Away from music, Peter has also kept busy on stage, previously appearing in West End productions like Grease, and now preparing to star in Mamma Mia! The Party alongside Sam Bailey.

Princess Eyes Music Career — But Faces One Big Fear

Interestingly, it seems Princess may be preparing to follow even more closely in her father’s footsteps.

In a recent episode of her show, she admitted she’s always loved music and has wanted to pursue it for years. However, she also revealed a personal struggle — despite posting videos singing with her dad when she was younger, she still feels anxious about performing in front of others or stepping into a studio environment.

It’s a vulnerable confession that highlights the pressure of growing up in the public eye — even with a famous father guiding the way.

And as Peter watches from the sidelines — proud, reflective, and perhaps slowly preparing to step back — one thing is becoming clear: the spotlight in the Andre family is already shifting.
