Not everything is a tragedy: Both Princess Kate and King Charles have cancer, but that has only strengthened their bond even more

Prince William has recently opened up about Princess Kate Middleton’s battle with cancer, sharing how their family is holding strong through the adversity.

During a visit to a charity in Surrey, William was handed cards addressed to both Kate and King Charles. A volunteer told him, “We wish Catherine all the best,” to which William responded warmly, “Thank you, you’re very kind,” and added, “I will look after her.”

Kate had announced her diagnosis publicly on March 22, explaining that after undergoing abdominal surgery, “tests after the operation found cancer had been present.” She shared that she was advised by her medical team to undergo preventative chemotherapy, which she has now started. In her own words, Kate said: “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

One of their top priorities was to break the news to their three children themselves. “It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be okay,” Kate said in the announcement video.

This challenging time has also brought Kate and King Charles III even closer. A source noted, “Charles has always had a very good bond with her and supported her joining the royal family. He admires her strength and how she’s handled everything. He now sees her like the daughter he never had.”

Throughout this journey, Prince William has continued to support his wife while managing his royal duties, showing his deep commitment both as a husband and a future king.
