England footballer Missy Bo Kearns has shared the devastating news that she and her partner, Luton Town midfielder Liam Walsh, have lost their baby during pregnancy.
The Aston Villa star, 24, had only recently revealed the couple were expecting their first child together in an emotional social media video. In the touching clip, Missy and Liam were seen painting “mum + dad” on a wall, showing off baby scans and confirming their little one was due in September.

But in a deeply sad update posted to Instagram Stories on Sunday night, Missy told fans their world had been turned upside down.
She wrote: “With very heavy hearts, we want to share that we’ve lost our baby during pregnancy.”
The midfielder went on to describe the pain she and Liam have been facing in recent weeks, admitting: “The past weeks have been filled with a kind of sadness that’s hard to explain, and we’re still trying to come to terms with it all.”

Missy also said the couple are now concentrating on healing together as they try to process the loss. She added: “Right now, we’re focusing on recovering and supporting each other through this. We truly appreciate the love and support around us more than we can say.”
Liam, 28, reposted the same message on his own Instagram Stories in a show of solidarity during the heartbreaking moment.
Following the announcement, Aston Villa Women publicly sent their support to the couple, writing on X: “We are sending all our love and support to Missy Bo and Liam at this difficult time.”
The tragic update came just weeks after Missy’s pregnancy announcement was met with an outpouring of love from across the football world. England captain Leah Williamson had replied: “Loveeee this for you,” while Alessia Russo wrote: “Congratulations Bo.” Alex Greenwood also celebrated the news, saying: “The best news, so happy for you both.”
Missy, who made her England debut last year and has already earned three appearances for the Lionesses, had been expected to miss the rest of Aston Villa’s season and the beginning of the next campaign because of her pregnancy.
The midfielder, who has been in a relationship with Liam since 2022, was also named on Sarina Wiegman’s standby list for Euro 2025 before England went on to retain their title.
Now, what should have been a joyful new chapter for the young couple has instead become an intensely private heartbreak shared with the public in the most painful of circumstances.
