Dan Osborne has hit back furiously after a newspaper report compared Jacqueline Jossa’s alleged split from him to “getting out of prison” following what it described as a “gruelling and traumatic decade-long stretch”.
The former TOWIE star, 34, and EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa, 33, have once again found themselves under intense public scrutiny amid continued reports that their marriage is over. The couple, who tied the knot in 2017, share two daughters, Ella, 11, and Mia, seven.
Their relationship has long played out under the spotlight, with past cheating allegations continuing to cast a shadow over Dan’s public image. But this time, the backlash appears to have pushed him to breaking point.
Dan reacted after reading a scathing article that suggested Jacqueline moving on from him was like “somebody getting out of prison after a particularly gruelling and traumatic decade-long stretch”, before adding: “Good for her! Freedom at last.”
Clearly devastated by the comparison, Dan reposted the article on Instagram Stories and launched into an explosive response, accusing both the writer and the paper of deliberately trying to tear him down.
“Whoever Polly Hudson is, you are a vile human. The Sun, you’re scum,” he wrote.
He then turned to the long-term impact the coverage could have on his family, saying: “My children will see the [bleep] you’ve wrote about me. I’m a good man, mistakes I made all those years ago do not define me as a person. Mistakes in my 20’s aren’t who I am anymore AT ALL, I don’t even recognise that version of me. I’m in my mid-thirties now, I should not be tarnished with this & mentally destroyed all these years later.”
Dan also claimed he has been relentlessly targeted for years, insisting the public version of him being described no longer reflects who he is today.
“I am sure the Sun have and always will want to try to destroy me, I’m sure they want to see how far they can push me before… I’ve never seen someone get targeted and attacked how I have.. for years! I have been a good husband & dad. You do not know me personally, you don’t know anything about my relationship or anything in my real life in fact,” he said.
Ending his statement with a raw plea, Dan wrote: “Leave me the [bleep] alone.”
His outburst has now added yet another dramatic chapter to the ongoing fallout surrounding his relationship with Jacqueline, with emotions clearly running high as the split continues to make headlines.
