Davina McCall makes devastating c.a.n.c.e.r admission after terrible few months. From ‘Advanced Alzheimer’s’ Fears To A Fresh C.a.n.c.e.r Battle: The Terrifying Health Ordeal Davina McCall Has Now Laid Bare

Davina McCall has made a deeply emotional new admission about the devastating health battle that turned what should have been a recovery period into yet another frightening ordeal.

The presenter, 58, revealed that being diagnosed with breast cancer came just as she was only starting to feel like herself again after undergoing surgery for a brain tumour. Speaking candidly about the moment everything changed, Davina said the news hit her with shocking force, admitting it felt “like being punched in the face by the universe”.

After discovering a rare benign brain tumour known as a colloid cyst in late 2024, Davina had hoped the months ahead would be focused on healing and rebuilding her strength. But those hopes were shattered when, only two months after a mammogram, she found a lump and was told she had breast cancer.

Opening up on Jamie Theakston’s Heart Breakfast show, Davina recalled the crushing moment the diagnosis landed. She said: “It was just quite a difficult year and in October, interestingly two years almost to the month where I found out I had a brain tumour, I got breast cancer, and it felt like being punched in the face by the universe.”

She also used the moment to deliver an urgent message to others, warning people not to dismiss worrying symptoms simply because they have recently had a check-up. Davina said: “I just thought what, I was just about beginning to feel like myself again, and I had a mammogram in the August and this was the October, and I found a lump. So just don’t think, ‘oh I had a mammogram recently, it can’t be that’. It could be. So just check, if you’ve got something, go get it looked at. It takes seconds.”

Her warning carried even more weight given the brutal series of health scares she has endured in such a short space of time. Following her brain surgery, Davina revealed she was left suffering severe memory problems and terrifying confusion, to the point where she believed she had “advanced Alzheimer’s”.

Reflecting on that distressing period, she said: “[My memory] was absolutely mad. I thought I had advanced Alzheimer’s, I didn’t know I had an operation, I thought I was in America because I was in a place called the Cleveland Clinic.”

The former Big Brother host explained that the aftermath of surgery left those around her shaken too, including Jamie, who admitted he had been deeply concerned by the things she was saying at the time. Davina later apologised for worrying him, revealing how disoriented she had been in the days after her operation.

The conversation was made all the more emotional by the fact Jamie has also faced his own cancer battle. He was diagnosed with stage one laryngeal cancer and has since undergone surgery, though he has admitted the fear of it returning still lingers.

For Davina, this latest admission lays bare just how relentless the past year has been. What began as a hope for recovery quickly became a second, devastating health crisis — and her words now serve as both a heartbreaking confession and a powerful warning not to ignore the signs.
