After three miscarriages and a skin cancer battle, Katherine Ryan glows with life once again – proudly carrying baby number four at 41

Katherine Ryan has revealed she’s expecting her fourth child, glowing with happiness as she stepped out with a visible baby bump in London this week. The 41-year-old comedian, who shares three children with husband Bobby Kootstra, proudly showcased her pregnancy at the “Ageing and Biohacking: The Science of Immortality” event.

Already a mum to 15-year-old Violet from a previous relationship and to Fred, 3, and Fenna, 2, with Bobby, Katherine confirmed the happy news after fans spotted her bump in a TikTok video with Violet. Her spokesperson has now officially confirmed the pregnancy, marking a joyful chapter following a challenging health scare.

Earlier this year, Katherine underwent surgery after spotting changes in a mole—despite doctors’ reassurances, tests confirmed it was skin cancer. This wasn’t her first brush with the disease, as she had previously battled stage two melanoma at just 21.

Despite facing three miscarriages in the last five years, Katherine has never hidden her desire for a bigger family. “I’d still like a fourth baby,” she recently said, adding, “Having children is not for everyone, but I really love making people. It feels like a superpower.”

Katherine also shared that she and Bobby conceived quickly in the past but acknowledged the emotional toll of repeated loss. “You have to find a balance between what you can personally stand and the risks you’re willing to take,” she explained.

Though surrogacy has been a lifeline for many, Katherine firmly stated it’s not an option she would consider. “It would feel exploitative for me,” she said, affirming her belief in carrying her own children.

After rekindling her teenage romance with Bobby in 2018, the couple has built a loving home life, raising their children together after Katherine spent years as a single mother. Now, she’s embracing this next chapter with grace, humour, and an unshakable determination to grow her family—on her own terms.
