Adam Peaty’s sister Bethany has finally spoken out about the explosive family fallout that has divided the Peatys and the Ramsays — revealing the emotional toll of being stuck between loyalty to her brother and love for her mother.
Bethany Peaty, 32, was the only member of her immediate family to attend Adam’s lavish wedding to Holly Ramsay at Bath Abbey in December, a decision that saw her branded a “traitor” by some relatives. She had also joined Holly’s glamorous hen do, further fuelling claims she had chosen the celebrity lifestyle over her own family.
Now, breaking her silence, Beth admitted the situation has left her “right in the middle of the row,” describing the past few months as “a very difficult time.”
She explained that despite everything, she has now reconciled with her mother Caroline, 60, for the sake of her children. Beth said she made peace because her kids “adore her” and she remains “a great grandma and a good mum.”
The rift began when Olympic swimmer Adam reportedly banned his mother — along with other family members — from attending his wedding, a decision Beth described as “very sad” and “a shame.” She hinted she had tried to mediate between the two sides but admitted it was impossible, noting that “we as Peatys are very strong-minded people.”
Beth also opened up about stepping into the Ramsays’ high-profile world, acknowledging the stark contrast between their lifestyles. She said it was “a wonderful world, a very different one to the one we know,” while insisting Gordon Ramsay, his wife Tana and daughter Holly made her feel welcome, calling them “a good family.”
However, insiders claimed her experience among celebrities may have changed her, with one source accusing her of having “a glimpse into a different life and sold her soul by backing Adam to be part of it.” The same source alleged Beth has since distanced herself from the Ramsays and returned to her roots by reconciling with her mum.
Beth brushed off the glitz, joking that her own wedding to fiancé Daniel Rogerson would be far more modest, saying she had “no idea” when it would happen — but “it won’t be on the Ramsay scale.”
