Sophie Hinchliffe, a mother of three, had to rush her son Vinnie to the hospital after he was diagnosed with an illness

Social media personality and cleaning sensation Sophie Hinchliffe, better known as Mrs Hinch, has opened up about a difficult week after rushing her newborn son Vinnie to the hospital.

Earlier this week, the mum-of-three took her baby to Accident & Emergency after sensing something wasn’t right. Although she had previously shared about Vinnie’s struggles with reflux, Sophie revealed that her instincts told her there was more to the story.

After being admitted and undergoing further examinations, doctors diagnosed baby Vinnie with reflux, cow’s milk protein allergy (CMPA), and laryngomalacia — a condition where the soft tissues of the voice box collapse during feeding, often causing noisy breathing.

Sophie, who gave birth to Vinnie in February, shared a series of heartwarming and emotional photos from their hospital stay, including images of her cradling her son and moments of him resting with monitoring wires attached. In a video shared on social media, Vinnie appeared cheerful, giving followers a reassuring glimpse of his recovery.

In a heartfelt message to her followers, Sophie wrote: “Hello Everyone, a little update from us. Having stayed in hospital this last week with Vinnie, I am SO grateful we are now back home.

Vinnie’s reflux journey is something I’ve never experienced before, and my gut couldn’t settle on ‘it’s just reflux, it will pass.’ I took him to A&E and after further checks, we found out it’s not just reflux and CMPA – he also has laryngomalacia.”

She went on to explain: “This is a congenital condition, present from birth, where the soft tissues of the voice box collapse inward during feeding. To finally have answers – and know that as parents we weren’t just overthinking – feels like a relief, although it’s still scary.

We’ve been given a care plan for Vinnie, and if all goes to plan, he can avoid potential surgery. Our next big step is helping him gain weight over the next month. One feed at a time.”

Sophie, who herself was recently hospitalised due to a blood clot, also reflected on how emotionally exhausting the past year has been: “I know how blessed we are, truly, but it feels like it’s been one thing after another knocking us down. My nerves are in pieces, but we keep going – we all do. Because things will surely start to look up again soon.”

She ended the update with a touching homecoming moment, sharing a video of Vinnie reunited with his older brothers Ronnie and Lennie — a sweet reminder that despite the struggles, family remains at the heart of everything.
