Kerry Katona has opened up about a terrifying health scare that left her in intense pain — and fearing the worst. The 43-year-old mum-of-five recently discovered several lumps along her jawline, prompting an emergency dentist visit that uncovered a hidden infection requiring urgent treatment.

Writing in her New! magazine column, Kerry revealed: “The lumps in my jaw turned out to be an infection. I had to undergo three root canal procedures at once — I’ve been in agony ever since.” Despite the pain, she’s continuing to film Celebs Go Dating and trying to remain upbeat on camera.
She thanked the dental team who supported her, adding: “Wish Dental have been amazing — but honestly, I just want to stay in bed. I’m exhausted.”

Kerry admitted that her health anxiety — something she’s long battled — had her immediately fearing the worst. “I’m a massive hypochondriac,” she said. “I was nervous they’d find something serious.”
Her fears were not unfounded. Last year, doctors discovered blood in her cervix, which left Kerry terrified she had cancer. At the time, she even considered marrying her then-partner Ryan Mahoney so he could become legal guardian to her youngest daughter DJ, whose father George Kay passed away in 2019.

Thankfully, this time Kerry received the all-clear. The lumps were not cancerous, and her current pain was linked to stress and gland issues. Reflecting on it all, she said, “It’s crazy what stress can do to our bodies, especially as women.”
Now, Kerry is focusing on recovery — physically and emotionally — while juggling parenting, work commitments, and healing from yet another health curveball.
