Davina McCall, one of Britain’s most recognisable TV faces, has quietly nurtured a deeply personal love story with celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas — a relationship that bloomed during one of the most turbulent times of her life.

The pair have known each other for over two decades, first bonding when Michael styled Davina’s hair for TV. But it wasn’t until Davina’s split from her second husband in 2017 that their friendship transformed into something more intimate. By 2019, they went public with their romance, attending the Chelsea Flower Show together.
Despite their public profiles, the couple have fiercely protected their privacy. Davina once explained they had made a mutual pact to not speak publicly about their relationship out of respect for their ex-partners and children. “Privacy keeps our relationship magical,” she said.

Still, behind the scenes, their love has grown stronger. Davina and Michael moved in together in 2022, and they now host a podcast together, “Making The Cut,” where their easy chemistry shines through. She calls their time together “new traditions” that bring joy and normalcy.
Their families were intertwined before romance ever entered the picture — Davina had met Michael’s children, and he had been a source of support during her separation. But their union wasn’t without heartbreak. Michael’s ex-wife Tracey, who was once friends with Davina, was reportedly blindsided by the news of their relationship.

Michael’s devotion was undeniable when he cared for Davina after her brain surgery. Though she initially resented him for encouraging her to return to work, she later admitted he gave her the confidence she didn’t know she needed. “He knows me better than I know myself,” she reflected.
And when Davina took the stage to accept her National Television Award in 2024, she looked at Michael and said what the public rarely hears: “You make me a better person, and you make me so happy.”
