Gethin Jones has set tongues wagging after sharing cosy snaps from his birthday ski trip in Morzine — and fans were quick to notice who was by his side.
The 48-year-old BBC Morning Live presenter appeared relaxed and cheerful as he celebrated in the French Alps with friends, including Sky Sports presenter Pien Meulensteen, 29. In photos posted to Instagram, Gethin and the Dutch-born broadcaster looked close as they enjoyed the slopes together, fuelling fresh speculation about his love life.
Captioning the post, Gethin wrote: “A quality few days in Morzine with a top class group ‘the padel princesses’. First time I went to the mountains I raced half pipe and tried a ski jump, this was around 20 years ago! I’ve been skiing a few times since then but decided to get my first lesson this time, and guess what, it really helped. Waiting for the queen of socials @pienmeulensteen to send some reels. Until then, he’s my offering!”
Pien, who works across Sky Sports, ITV and DAZN’s Women’s Champions League coverage, made headlines in 2023 when she became the first female commentator for a live Premier League match on Sky Sports. She is also the daughter of former Manchester United assistant manager René Meulensteen.
The timing of the ski getaway has only intensified interest, coming months after Gethin was linked to his Morning Live co-star Helen Skelton. The pair were pictured together at the Pride of Britain Awards last October, seemingly confirming months of speculation.
However, Helen, 42, has since firmly shut down romance rumours. She insisted: “We just work together, we are not together. No, no, no. We are just work friends.”
Reports later suggested that Gethin had cooled things off and even joined celebrity dating app Raya during a trip to Australia in a bid to meet new people.
Over the years, Gethin has had several high-profile romances, including with Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, whom he dated for four years and became engaged to in 2011 before their split later that year.
For now, neither Gethin nor Pien has addressed the romance rumours directly — but their snowy birthday celebrations have certainly left fans wondering whether love could be in the mountain air.
