Pete Wicks has once again left viewers reaching for the tissues after sharing a heart-warming update on Crumble, the foster dog who captured the nation’s hearts on For Dogs’ Sake.
Crumble’s story proved to be one of the most emotional moments of the series. The anxious staffy-boxer cross had spent more than three years in a Dogs Trust kennel, repeatedly overlooked by potential adopters because of her reactive, barky behaviour.
When Pete first met her, Crumble was muzzled and dividing her time between kennels and overnight care with an adoption adviser. Determined to give her a chance, Pete worked closely with staff, patiently helping Crumble learn how to stay calm around other dogs during walks.
It wasn’t long before Pete admitted he had completely fallen for her.
On the show, he said he had “such a soft spot” for Crumble, explaining how much she had changed since their first meeting. He revealed that seeing how much love and affection she had inside gave him goosebumps.
