David Beckham’s Subtle “Dig” at Son Brooklyn: David Beckham has made a small but loaded move aimed at his son Brooklyn Beckham, as tensions within the Beckham family continue to escalate.

David Beckham appears to have delivered a subtle but telling swipe at son Brooklyn Beckham as tensions within the Beckham family continue to simmer.

The 26-year-old shocked fans worldwide last week after releasing a series of explosive accusations against his parents, Victoria Beckham and David, reigniting an already bitter family feud.

Brooklyn, who has tried to reinvent himself several times over the years, once attempted to build a culinary career with his short-lived Cookin’ With Brooklyn series and a much-mocked bacon sandwich on the The Today Show. In 2024, he doubled down on his foodie ambitions by launching his own hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, featuring two flavours — hot habanero and sweet jalapeño — under the slogan “Flavour beyond the clouds”.

But this week, his famous father appeared to pointedly ignore the venture altogether.

Taking to Instagram Stories, David shared footage of himself dining at a Middle Eastern restaurant, surrounded by plates of grilled meats, sides and dips. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that the hot sauce on the table was very much not Cloud 23 — instead, David was seen using a rival brand, a move many interpreted as a quiet but deliberate snub.

The moment came just days after Brooklyn was ridiculed online for sharing a homemade spaghetti bolognese — notably without spaghetti. Viewers were left baffled when he admitted he’d run out of the pasta, swapped it for shells, skipped garlic entirely and used his bare hands to scoop tomatoes from a tin.

“No garlic? And why scoop the tomatoes out with your hands?” one follower asked, while another joked: “Why on God’s green earth didn’t he just pour them in like a normal human?”

Brooklyn defended himself, explaining he had planned to use spaghetti but had simply run out, adding a casual “xx” to soften the backlash. While some critics labelled the dish “basic” and “nothing special”, others rushed to his defence, praising him for cooking on his own terms.

The culinary controversy is just the latest chapter in a deeply personal fallout that erupted after Brooklyn published a bombshell statement accusing his mother of hijacking his first dance at his wedding to heiress Nicola Peltz.

Brooklyn claimed that in front of 500 guests, singer Marc Anthony called him to the stage — where he expected to dance with his new wife — only to find his mother waiting instead. He said the moment left him feeling “uncomfortable” and “humiliated”, prompting the couple to consider renewing their vows to replace the memory with something happier.

While the claims remain unverified, they have sharply divided fans into pro-Brooklyn and pro-Victoria camps.

Amid the chaos, Brooklyn’s billionaire father-in-law Nelson Peltz has publicly stepped in to defend the young couple. Speaking during a Q&A session at WSJD’s Invest Live event in Florida, he praised both his daughter and son-in-law, saying he looked forward to them enjoying a “long, happy marriage together”.

For now, the Beckhams remain publicly silent — but for many fans, David’s choice of hot sauce spoke louder than any statement ever could.
