Brooklyn Beckham Roasted on Mock The Week’s Return — Branded ‘The New Prince Harry’ for Turning His Back on His Family

Brooklyn Beckham has become the punchline of the week after the revived Mock The Week returned with a savage first look — branding the Beckham heir “the new Prince Harry” for turning on his famous family and decamping to the US with his wife.

The long-running comedy panel show, which originally aired on the BBC from 2005 until 2022, is making its comeback on TLC this week, with Dara Ó Briain back in the host’s chair. And judging by the preview clip, nothing — and no one — is off limits.

Kicking off with the Beckham family feud, comedians wasted no time skewering Brooklyn, 26, who has been locked in a very public row with parents Victoria Beckham and David Beckham.

In recent Instagram posts, Brooklyn accused his parents of being “performative” online and claimed they had repeatedly tried to sabotage his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022. He also reignited controversy over his wedding, alleging his mother “very inappropriately” danced with him in front of hundreds of guests — a moment he said should have been reserved for Nicola.

That claim was later addressed by family friend DJ Fat Tony, who appeared on ITV’s This Morning to insist the incident had been wildly exaggerated. Tony explained that singer Marc Anthony had invited Victoria and Brooklyn onto the dancefloor and even instructed him to place his hands on his mother’s hips, joking that there was “no slut-dropping” or Spice Girls theatrics involved.

But on Mock The Week, that clarification only made things funnier. Comedian Rhys James joked that DJ Fat Tony acting as the “arbiter of truth” in a national news story was absurd, before quipping that Britain had finally discovered what “zig-a-zig-ah” really meant.

Ed Byrne then delivered the night’s most brutal comparison, declaring that the Beckhams had always styled themselves as an “alternative royal family” — before adding that their eldest son had now “p****d off to America with his wife”, just like Prince Harry.

The revived show, which premieres on TLC on February 1, will feature familiar faces including Hugh Dennis, Sara Pascoe, Katherine Ryan and Russell Howard, alongside classic rounds such as Wheel of News and Scenes We’d Like To See. And with Dara hinting that TLC won’t be policing political “balance” in the way the BBC once did, viewers can expect even sharper punches — starting with Brooklyn Beckham firmly in the firing line.
