Alison Hammond, 50, Admits She’s ‘Madly in Love’ With Her 22-Years-Younger Boyfriend — And Reveals She’d Say ‘Yes’ If a Proposal Came

Alison Hammond has confirmed she’s deeply “in love” with her younger boyfriend David Putman, revealing that their relationship is going from strength to strength — and admitting she wouldn’t say no if he ever popped the question.

The much-loved TV star, 50, has barely had a moment to breathe this year, juggling four major projects including The Great British Bake Off, This Morning, Alison Hammond’s Big Weekend and Alison Hammond’s Florida Unpacked alongside her son Aiden. But as Christmas approaches, Alison says she’s ready to slow things down and focus on what matters most.

Speaking candidly, Alison revealed she’s planning a much quieter festive period with “the two most important men” in her life — her son and her boyfriend. She joked that after years of hosting huge family gatherings, she’s earned a break, admitting she’s more than happy to let someone else do the cooking this time.

Alison has been dating masseur and model David, 28, since early last year and has never shied away from addressing their 22-year age gap. She’s previously said David is “mature and sensible” while she’s “so not”, adding that the contrast works perfectly for them.

Opening up about their bond, Alison said things are going “really, really well”, explaining that David has “the most beautiful energy” and that people instantly feel it when he walks into a room. She added that it’s rare to meet someone like him and admitted she feels grateful that he chooses to share his life with her.

She also reflected on how love has changed her, saying being in love has made her more patient and kinder, because there’s always someone you want to care for — and who cares for you in return.

While Alison insists there are no wedding plans right now, she didn’t completely shut the door on marriage. Laughing off the question, she said she doesn’t need a ring to prove her love and that living together happily is enough for now. However, she teased that if David were to propose tomorrow, it definitely wouldn’t be a “no”.

Away from her personal life, Alison also made headlines by boldly putting herself forward as a future host of Strictly Come Dancing. With ongoing speculation about who might eventually replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, Alison confidently declared that the role “up in the gods” would suit her perfectly — joking that producers would be silly not to choose her.

She even named a few stars she could imagine hosting alongside her, including Amanda Holden, Davina McCall and her This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary, before cheekily declaring that “Alison for Strictly” should be the headline.

Alison also spoke passionately about her recent work with Specsavers, praising their Home Visits service and explaining how it could have made a huge difference for her late mother, who used a wheelchair. She said it’s vital people know the service exists, especially as so many carers struggle to get loved ones to essential appointments.

Finally, Alison couldn’t hide her pride when talking about her son Aiden, 20, who’s pursuing a career in music production. Calling him her “everything”, she admitted it means the world to her that he now wants to spend time with her again after the distance of his teenage years.
