Eamonn Holmes Contacts Ruth Langsford After Being ‘Left Behind’ by His Younger Girlfriend – What’s Really Going On?

Eamonn Holmes has reportedly reached out to ex-wife Ruth Langsford for the first time since their highly publicized split – just as he finds himself struggling emotionally after being “left in limbo” by his new girlfriend, Katie Alexander.

The 64-year-old TV presenter, who ended his 14-year marriage with Ruth in May, had since moved on with Katie, a marriage counsellor 22 years his junior. But now, insiders claim the relationship has hit a serious roadblock – leaving Eamonn feeling “lonely” and “heartbroken.”

Katie, who lives in Yorkshire and shares custody of her teenage children with her ex-husband, is reportedly unwilling to relocate to London to live with Eamonn in his penthouse apartment in Kingston. Despite a seemingly promising start, she has made it clear that uprooting her life isn’t on the cards – not now, and perhaps not for many years.

“There’s no way she will move in with Eamonn in the near future, or for many years,” a source told MailOnline. “She has her children to consider. Truth be told, they are a little unsettled at her relationship being played out in the media, and she doesn’t want to uproot them.”

Though Katie’s children have met Eamonn a few times and seem to get along with him, the couple remains in a long-distance relationship with no plans to change that. According to The Mirror, this emotional distance has hit Eamonn hard, especially after the painful divorce from Ruth Langsford. He is said to be feeling “more isolated than ever.”

In the midst of this emotional turbulence, Eamonn made an unexpected online gesture – “liking” a recent post by Ruth in which she shared a photo of herself holding her elderly mother’s hand in a hospital bed. Ruth revealed her 93-year-old mother, Joan, had been hospitalized after a fall, writing: “She’ll be in hospital for a bit longer yet, but she’s in pretty good spirits considering and I hope she’ll be home for Christmas.”

This marked the first public interaction between Ruth and Eamonn since their split – a moment that has sparked fresh speculation about their dynamic.

The former couple, once beloved hosts of ITV’s This Morning, were dropped from the show in 2020. While Ruth continued with ITV on Loose Women, Eamonn left bitterly, accusing the network of sacking him without warning and treating him poorly. “They tossed me out of the door and didn’t care where I was going,” he said at the time.

Adding to the strain, Eamonn has been battling chronic health problems in recent years, often seen using a wheelchair or crutches. Ruth recently opened up about how Eamonn’s declining mobility had put pressure on their family. Speaking to Woman’s Weekly, she admitted: “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope.” She described the period as a “testing time.”

As Katie distances herself and Ruth faces family challenges, Eamonn appears to be caught in emotional limbo – a man navigating loneliness, health issues, and the fallout of two deeply personal relationships.
