Morning Live presenter Michelle Ackerley has shared heartfelt details about her pregnancy and the support she’s received — especially from co-host Helen Skelton, who herself has made headlines recently for her rumoured romance with fellow presenter Gethin Jones.
Michelle, 40, who is expecting her first child with husband Ben Ryan, spoke exclusively at the BAFTA Television Awards about how emotional the experience has been, especially after fearing she might never conceive due to endometriosis.
“It’s been overwhelming,” Michelle admitted. “At the start of this year, I didn’t think I could get pregnant — and now, here I am, on the red carpet with my little one.” Her announcement came live on Morning Live just two weeks ago, in a touching moment supported by her co-stars, including Gethin and Helen.
She revealed Helen has been “so lovely” and offered her encouraging words as a fellow mum. “Everyone’s been like ‘strap in and go for it,’” Michelle said. “Most of the women on Morning Live are parents, and they’ve said, ‘Take every moment as it comes. Try and enjoy the process.’”
Michelle’s interview comes as fans continue to speculate over Helen’s close bond with co-presenter Gethin Jones. Though the pair have never confirmed anything beyond friendship, insiders claim the two have developed a “deeper connection” in recent months, especially after spending time together at events like the BAFTAs.
According to sources, “Helen and Gethin have an extremely close working relationship and there’s a feeling in recent months their friendship has blossomed into something more.” They reportedly even left the BAFTAs together earlier this month.
For now, Michelle is focusing on her pregnancy, and says the love and advice from her colleagues — especially Helen — has made this journey extra special.
