Davina McCall Reposts Tearful NTAs Moment Dedicated to New Husband Michael Douglas After Secret Wedding: “You Make Me a Better Person”. She cried on stage. He cried in the crowd. Now they’re husband and wife. Davina McCall’s reposted NTAs speech isn’t just a throwback — it’s a love story written through illness, resilience and quiet devotion

Davina McCall has melted hearts once again after reposting her tearful NTAs tribute to now husband Michael Douglas, just days after the couple quietly tied the knot in London.

The TV star, 58, married celebrity hairdresser Michael, 49, in an intimate ceremony last week, only two months after their surprise engagement in Ibiza. To mark the moment, Davina shared a clip from the September 2024 National Television Awards, where she publicly thanked Michael for standing by her during some of the darkest chapters of her life.

In the emotional footage, Davina addressed him by his full name, jokingly clarifying, “Michael Douglas — the younger one, not the older one,” prompting laughter from the audience. But the mood quickly turned heartfelt as she struggled to hold back tears while accepting her Special Recognition award.

“I love being on this journey with you,” she said, her voice breaking. “You make me a better person and you make me so happy. Thank you.”

The camera cut to Michael in the crowd, visibly emotional as he watched his future wife speak, while the audience erupted into cheers.

Davina has previously spoken candidly about how Michael supported her through surgery to remove a benign brain tumour, as well as her more recent breast cancer diagnosis. Their bond was on full display again this week when Davina appeared on Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer 2025, where she was moved to tears during a live segment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

During the broadcast, a cancer patient gently asked how she was coping herself. Overwhelmed, Davina replied, “Can I just say, you asking me that — I can’t believe that. I’m really good,” before urging viewers not to ignore cancer screenings and to listen to their bodies.

The newlywed also debuted her wedding ring during the programme, marking her first public appearance since the secret ceremony. For the wedding itself, Davina ditched a traditional gown in favour of a chic white fur-look coat, while Michael opted for a striking bright blue suit as they emerged from Marylebone Town Hall as husband and wife.

From a private wedding to a public declaration of love replayed for millions, Davina’s reposted tribute has taken on new meaning — not just as an awards show moment, but as a powerful snapshot of love forged through illness, resilience and unwavering support.
