Davina McCall has quietly tied the knot with longtime partner Michael Douglas in a deeply personal, low-key ceremony — just three months after the pair got engaged, marking a moment of peace and joy after a year overshadowed by serious health battles.
The couple, who have stood by each other through Davina’s brain tumour and breast cancer treatment, exchanged vows on Friday at a small venue close to their home. Only close relatives and ten of their closest friends were present, creating what insiders described as a ceremony that felt “exactly right for them”.
A source revealed the pair didn’t want a grand affair. “Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted,” the insider shared. “After everything they’ve been through with Davina’s health, it just felt right to formalise their marriage now. They didn’t see the point in waiting.”
The newlyweds then spent the next day attending a larger wedding as guests — their first appearance as a married couple — where Davina proudly showed off her wedding ring.
Their whirlwind engagement in Ibiza in September had been a joyful surprise. Davina later joked that she almost spoiled the proposal because she had been in “a miserable mood” that day. She recalled how Michael led her for a walk along the cliffs, even though she was dressed, as she put it, “in god-forsaken little pink cowboy boots with steel toe caps — absolutely not cliff-climbing material.”
Michael knelt down after reciting something heartfelt, though Davina admitted she wasn’t sure it was real at first. “He’d spent the entire year pretending to propose by tying fake shoelaces,” she said. “After the fourth or fifth time, it became an in-joke. So when he finally did get down on one knee, my brain didn’t quite compute it at first.”
