From Size 22 to Cycling in Italy at 68: Fern Britton’s Transformation Leaves Fans Speechless. Fern Britton declares she lost five stone completely naturally, insisting she can “look at you and say: yes, I did”

Fern Britton looked effortlessly polished as she showcased her five-stone weight loss in a chic new Instagram photo on Saturday. The 68-year-old former This Morning presenter, who has openly spoken about her lifelong battle with fluctuating weight, appeared confident and radiant in a velvet khaki blazer paired with matching trousers — a gift from Busby & Fox.

Under the tailored jacket, Fern opted for a crisp white ruffled blouse tucked neatly into her high-waisted trousers, creating a classic look that fans quickly praised. The TV favourite, who has previously moved between a size 22 and a size 12, said she finally committed to prioritising her health after her shoulder surgery a few years ago.

She explained that people often assume dramatic weight loss comes from shortcuts, but when asked if she did it naturally, she said she could “look at you and say, yes, I have.” Fern completely overhauled her habits, admitting she needed to “get my life back on track, stop smoking, stop drinking, get eating under control and stop lying in bed feeling sorry for myself.” She began the Couch to 5K programme and cut 80% of sugar from her diet, confessing she had “never really thought” about what she ate before.

This autumn, Fern enjoyed a cycling holiday in Italy, sharing beaming photos alongside her long-time friends. In her caption, she called it “a glorious week in Italy with the Bike Buddies” and celebrated twenty years of friendship. Fans flooded her comments, calling her transformation “incredible” and “fire.”

Five years ago, Fern made a major life shift, moving permanently into her Cornish holiday home and renovating it piece by piece. She has also been thriving creatively: her newest novel, A Cornish Legacy, took two years to complete, adding to her growing list of post-This Morning literary successes, including New Beginnings, Daughters of Cornwall, and The Good Servant.
