Tears, tragedy and an unbelievable shock – Stacey Dooley’s ectopic pregnancy nearly cost her life, while baby Minnie once found herself inside Nevada’s oldest b.r.o.t.h.e.l

Stacey Dooley has shared for the first time that she suffered an ectopic pregnancy with partner Kevin Clifton, a traumatic ordeal that left her needing emergency surgery.

The 38-year-old TV presenter, who shares two-year-old daughter Minnie with the Strictly Come Dancing star, broke down in tears on her show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over as she recounted the heartbreaking loss.

Speaking alone to the camera, Stacey said: “I know how it feels to struggle to have a child. We wanted to grow our family and last year I became pregnant, but it didn’t go well. It was ectopic and it was really f***ing difficult.”

She revealed that she suffered an internal rupture and was rushed into emergency surgery. “When something like that happens, you’re forced to think of alternatives. S*** happens, and if you want a bigger family, you have to figure out how to do it,” she added.

Stacey and Kevin met in 2018 when they were paired together on Strictly Come Dancing, later winning the series and falling in love. They now live together in Nottingham with their daughter.

Away from her health struggles, Stacey also admitted earlier this year that she once took Minnie, then just eight months old, to the Mustang Ranch in Nevada while filming a documentary about sex work in the US. She laughed as she recalled needing sheriff’s permission to bring her baby onto the site, joking: “It sounds like a comedy sketch, but it’s legit. When I came back to breastfeed, the prostitutes would say, ‘Morning Miss Minnie!’”

Despite the heartbreak of her pregnancy loss, Stacey continues to juggle motherhood and a demanding career, telling fans she wants her daughter to grow up “open-minded if nothing else.”
