Samantha Barks has joyfully revealed she’s expecting her second child — and she’s nearly nine months along. The West End star, 34, made the surprise announcement during a backstage interview at the BBC’s VE Day 80th Anniversary concert, where she was preparing to perform.

Speaking to host Sophie Raworth, Samantha hinted at the baby’s gender by saying, “It’s her first adventure,” as she referenced taking her unborn child on stage with her. The bump, mostly hidden beneath a padded black coat, didn’t stop her from glowing ahead of the emotional performance.
Despite her advanced pregnancy, the Frozen star looked elegant in a black gown and a bold red lip as she sang the iconic wartime anthem We’ll Meet Again. Her performance closed the night and earned widespread praise online, with fans admiring both her vocals and her bravery for performing while heavily pregnant.

This marks Samantha’s fourth time performing for royalty, and she admitted she was still nervous. “It never gets less nerve-wracking, but I’m super proud. Music brings us together — even tonight,” she shared.
The singer previously revealed in October 2023 that she and husband Alex Stoll had welcomed their first child, Rafael. The couple tied the knot in June 2022.
Earlier this week, Samantha posted a bump photo for the first time on Instagram, sharing a sweet moment from their beachside babymoon. The joy surrounding her family has been shared by fans ever since.

Her incredible 2025 has already included being crowned the winner of The Masked Singer, where she stunned audiences as Pufferfish. Reflecting on that secretive journey, Samantha called it “the most fun experience” and said she was “smiling so hard under the mask.”
Before heading on maternity leave, Samantha received a warm sendoff from the Frozen cast. She shared her gratitude in an emotional message, calling her time performing while eight months pregnant “one of the greatest joys” of her life.
