Sharon Osbourne Too Heartbroken to Appear at VMAs as Son Jack Leads Emotional Tribute to Ozzy

Jack Osbourne delivered a moving tribute to his late father Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV VMAs in New York last night, while his grieving mother Sharon remained absent, still too devastated to speak publicly.

The Prince of Darkness, who died in July at the age of 76 following a cardiac arrest and complications from Parkinson’s disease, left behind a heartbroken family and millions of fans worldwide.

Jack, 39, appeared via video message alongside his four daughters – Pearl, Andy, Minnie and Maple – to honour the Black Sabbath icon. He told the crowd: “I know it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy.” His eldest daughter Pearl fought back tears before the grandkids, in unison, joyfully repeated their Papa’s signature line: “In the words of our Papa, let’s go crazy!”

The tribute segued into a montage of Ozzy’s career highlights, ending with one of his most poignant reflections: “After it’s all said and done, I wouldn’t change a thing.”

While Jack bravely fronted the memorial moment, Sharon, 72, was noticeably absent. Friends say she remains in a state of “pure devastation” after losing the man she had shared her life with for 43 years. She last appeared in public at Ozzy’s memorial service in Birmingham, supported by her children Jack and Kelly as she wept among thousands of floral tributes.

Ozzy has been laid to rest beneath a crabapple tree at the couple’s Buckinghamshire estate, in keeping with his long-held wish to be buried under a tree in his beloved garden. Sharon honoured his request, but the decision has left her torn about her own future.

“She is heartbroken,” a family source revealed. “She thought she would be nursing Ozzy for much longer in the UK. Now she’s sad, lonely, and a widow.” Sharon is now facing the painful dilemma of whether to remain in Britain, close to her husband’s grave, or return to Los Angeles to be near their children and grandchildren.
