Wayne Rooney Jokes He’s ‘Fuming’ as Coleen Refuses to Do His Chores After 17 Years of Marriage

Wayne Rooney has admitted he’s “fuming” that his wife, Coleen, no longer lays out his clothes or irons his shirts every day – a routine she once faithfully kept before the couple became parents to four boys.

Speaking on The Wayne Rooney Show podcast, the former Manchester United star laughed as he recalled: “Before we had kids, Coleen used to leave my clothes out the night before. Every day, yeah… ironed and ready for me to put on in the morning. Now I’ve got to get up and get my own clothes – I’m fuming.”

Co-host Kelly Cates teased him in response, quipping that he should never have had four kids because Coleen would “probably still be doing it now.” Wayne admitted that while he may miss the small luxuries, Coleen’s focus is now on preparing for their sons, Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass. “She does it for all the kids now the night before and stuff, yeah,” he said.

The couple, who met as teenagers in Croxteth, Liverpool, have been married for 17 years and often share light-hearted glimpses into their family life. During the podcast, Wayne also reminisced about a surreal evening at David and Victoria Beckham’s home, joined by Frank Lampard. “It was weird, what’s happening here? I opened a door and bumped Brooklyn’s head – he started crying and I thought, ‘oh Jesus Christ.’”

Laughing about how the dinner was anything but glamorous, Wayne added: “We were having kebabs. David’s obviously a great lad, Victoria’s lovely and funnier than people think.”

Between parenting, football commitments, and celebrity dinners, Wayne confessed that life has shifted. While he might joke about missing Coleen’s old habits, he admitted, “It’s part of life now. She’s busy with the kids, and I’ve got to sort myself out.”
